Pharmacist (COVID - 19 Response)

Job Responsibilities

Complete full count and quality check of all goods received to the Pharmacy.

Complete accurate Goods Received Note (GRN) for all items received in the Pharmacy and report on any discrepancies or losses or quality issues immediately. Prepare way-bills, packing-lists for each shipment.

Ensure all medicines are appropriately stacked and labelled.

Make a physical inventory of the stock (and pharmaceutical) with Operation Staff every month.

All forms completed accurately and timely - GRN, Stock/Bin Card, WH Ledger, Discard, Loss, Theft, Waybill, SRF, etc.

Create and issue DONATION LETTERs for all items/equipment being delivered to partners.

Re-packing and labelling all shipments for onward delivery.

Supervise loading and unloading at the Pharmacy; check any arrival of goods, quantity and quality. Oversee casual labour.

Overall maintenance of the Pharmacy; report any issues immediately.

Request and track pharmacy medicines needed for re-packing and storing - tape, labels, boxes, wrap, spray paint, etc.

Pharmacy Security

Ensure adequate security personnel complete timesheets and perform services as required. Report any issues with security guards immediately.

Complete Incident Report for any concerning events and notify Office immediately. Document any breakage or theft with photograph support.

Ensure fire extinguishers and first aid supplies are in place and kept appropriately stocked.

Pharmacy Staff

With Office and HR support ensure casual labour is appropriately hired and paid; supervise persons for loading/unloading. Ensure documentation of hours worked and payment is done according to RI standards.

Supervise additional Pharmacy staff and pharmacy staff.

Communications and Reporting

Maintain a Pharmacy ledger inventory for all program medicines; keep updated daily for all received and dispatched goods.

Provide weekly reports on the movements of medicines in/out of Pharmacy

Track and report on all transport shipments in/out of Pharmacy.

Ensure WBs and GRNs are documented and returned for all items received and dispatched.

Maintain filing on site for all Pharmacy documentation.

Ensure Gift in Kind items are specially marked and tracked according to same standards as program medicines.

Communicate regular updates on shipment tracking for receipt and facilitate shipment from Pharmacy to partner or intend beneficiary.

Coordinate closely with RI Operations team on the tracking and arrival of all shipments from Procurement.

IPC Management

Ensure proper donning and doffing of PPE items.

Conduct proper triage, early recognition and source control

Supervise instrument processing

Monitor waste management in the hospital

Pharmacy Assistant (COVID - 19 Response)

Label, package and compound pharmaceuticals so that all medications are properly dispensed

Review physician orders and prepare medications accordingly

Monitor patients' drug therapies

Train additional staff within the pharmacy, including interns, students and residents

Make sure all federal and state drug laws are followed, which involves removing expired drugs from the premises, maintaining records of all controlled substances and informing management of any changes that need to be made

Ensure a safe environment is maintained within the pharmacy

Attend workshops and review pharmaceutical publications in order to keep knowledge of practices up-to-date

Check and ensure online QC report, monitoring pest control activities and healthy sanitation & hygiene condition everywhere.

Acquire knowledge of cleaning agent and its application

Ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action on the line.

Monitor performance based on relevant data and produce statistical report.

Calibration and maintenance of QC instruments and other apparatus.

Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.

Participate in emergency response exercise as directed by higher authority.

Assistant Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Officer

Assist partners and UNHCR staff in the protection and health units to develop, coordinate, and monitor appropriate MHPSS interventions.

Contribute to capacity building and supportive supervision of UNHCR staff and partner staff around:

community-based psychosocial support,

evidence-based scalable psychological interventions,

clinical mental health care (support to primary health care workers around mental health care).

Perform monitoring around psychosocial support of partners including, in consultation with the relevant units, Community-based Protection, Child protection, SGBV and Education.

Perform monitoring around mental health services within in primary health centres, in consultation with the health and nutrition unit.

Provide support to UNHCR health partners to ensure the correct use of the mental health elements of Health Information System (HIS), collect data for the annual UNHCR reporting, review and analyse monthly health data, and compile annual reports on the mental health situation in camps.

Undertake regular site visits in order to assess MHPSS needs of persons of concern, with attention to people with specific needs.

Support the development of functional referral and follow-up mechanisms between community, MHPSS services and protection partners.

Support establishing referral pathways for people with clinically relevant mental health conditions from the community to the primary health care system and when required to secondary care.

Keep regular contacts with local authorities and partners as requested by supervisor.

Represent UNHCR team in MHPSS coordination meetings and or in coordination meetings round protection and health, as requested by supervisor.

Ensure compliance of implementing partners with global protection policies and standards of professional integrity in the delivery of MHPSS services.

Upon indication, assist in assessing the MHPSS needs of persons of concern (people with high priority needs and or persons with complex or severe problems), initiate treatment and define appropriate follow up interventions.

Perform other related duties as required.
